  1. Follow up exercises on corrections

Feedback reports are really useful, but they are not actionable. Once you make a mistake and Langua offers you a correction, both get lost in the chat history. It would be very useful that Langua had some kind of exam/practice/review mode (with dedicated modules, ideally) where the system retests you on the grammar points, words or phrases you fail during the chats.

Is it possible to get an idea of the level that one person is currently at when downloading the feedback?

  3. Create lessons or a space to practice all our errors

Loving the app. I have a suggestion. If there are general mistakes we keep making when speaking is there a way to capture these in one place to practice the mistakes we make to try and fix them? Perhaps even suggest a class or grammar theme we need to work on. Otherwise we just keep making the same mistakes without always knowing why

  5. Ability to easily switch between languages learning

It's cumbersome for me (only 2 weeks into using your site) to switch languages. I am working on 4 different ones, all at different levels. I found today, that asking while in Spanish for a created new story from my saved vocabulary resulted in some German words being added into the Spanish and some made up words, too. I imagine you all will work this out over time and as AI develops. Thank you for all you are doing! This tool is amazing.

  6. Indication of words already saved and deduplication of saved words

I added a word to my vocabulary from chat at some point using the default 'Add to Vocabulary' button inside the word popup. I came across this word later and didn't realize it had already been added since there wasn't any indication as far as I remember. This time, I expanded the 'All Meanings' section and clicked the add button next to all 3 of the definitions shown since they were different enough to be worth remembering. When going through my vocabulary list later, I noticed that I now had 4 entries for this word, each with a single definition. There are a few issues with this flow: If I'm seeing a word in a chat that is already in my saved vocabulary, it should indicate that in some way. This indication should not only be inside the word popup, but it should also be emphasized some way within the chat. The latter is the part that provides that extra signal to the brain of either "you've saved this word in the past, so nice job remembering its meaning this time" or "you've saved this word in the past and still had no idea what it meant this time, so maybe you should do some focused practice with it". If I add multiple definitions to a word, they should be added to a single vocabulary entry. In my example above, I would expect a single entry for this word with 4 definitions. I would understand the duplication if this were a word that had been saved with different conjugations or declensions, but this was a basic standalone adjective with the exact same spelling. I think that the worst offender in this case was when I added multiple meanings for a word within the same popup and it resulted in separate entries for each of those meanings.

  7. Have a β€œphoto mode”where a photo is displayed and one needs to describe what is in it

Would be super helpful for people who still need to work on developing more vocabulary. Langu is by far the best ai tutor I have found but unfortunately lacks this feature.

  9. verbs!

I really need to learn and practice my basic verbs and tenses. If there was an option to pick a verb and run through it's various tenses (listening and seeing it written) with the option of repeating back, and being corrected, I might actually start to improve in that department!!

  10. Read Along

Google has started a read along program that listens to you read and corrects you in the moment. That would be a good enhancement feature to leverage your AI capabilities.

  11. Textbook integration

My suggestion is a function which integrates common Japanese textbooks with the AI chat/tutor. The user could set up their profile to use a specific textbook and commence a session with a prompt such as β€œI’d like to study chapter three of Genki 2 today.” The AI chat then commences from chapter three of Genki 2. The user with the physical text book then practises new grammar, example conversations, etc, which enables them to review previous study or prepare for upcoming study. Another app called Bunpo has a similar function. It’s not a chat system but grammar review, but I can choose the textbook that I want to review with Bunpo and it integrates that specifically for me. If this were available with an AI chat partner it would be amazing.

  12. Ask me questions about the video content

I would like questions about the story that the machine can easily generate. Ask me questions that I can answer about the story. It will make me speak out loud, adding to the value.

  13. Stats for time spent with input (videos, podcasts)

It would be cool if LanguaStream kept a time log of how many minutes per day/week/month you spent watching video and listening to input.

  14. Use Chat History for personal improvements

I think it would be great if the AI can access all of a user's chat history. In this way the AI can provide better conversation and can simulate better to be a real tutor. This feature can also be available only in premium accounts, I think it's worth it.

Similar to how you can select phrases, etc, an option to conjugate (maybe present indicative by default, with options to select others)
